About Kristen

“Stories of pain and courage almost always include two things:
praying and cussing. Sometimes at the exact same time.”
– Brené Brown

You can’t contain the pain any longer.

Being hard on yourself for feeling sad, mad, or hurt doesn’t work and intensifies shame.

Thinking it will all get better hasn’t worked. You keep limping along – and now it’s worse.

Get permission to feel what you feel and find validation.

So… permission to drop the “f bomb” and tell it like it is.

Counseling is about being in a safe space, being allowed to say anything and feel anything without being judged.

Get the tools you need to live the life you want.

Sometimes we get stuck, unsure how to peel through our junk. We need a little help identifying strategies that work.

Part of therapy is gaining insight to familiar, but ineffective patterns of thinking. Sometimes, all we need is a slight tweak, a different way of looking at things, that leads to a change.

It takes courage to talk to a stranger about this stuff.

That’s why one of my main goals is to be on your side, to help you feel heard, accepted, and comfortable.

As you become more at ease, I will sometimes challenge your stinkin’ thinkin’ and nudge you out of your comfort zone. This process is to help you reach your goals.

Just know, you will set the pace for therapy.

About Kristen Warren, MS, LPC, NCC

Healing is possible – I know.

I remember being a young girl and seeing the devastation in marriages from unhealthy relationships and infidelity. I was always interested in why it couldn’t work out or why they didn’t seek help.

After experiencing pain in my marriage and doing the work to overcome the seemingly impossible, I wanted to help others find the hope and healing I found.

I returned to graduate school at Tarleton State University to get a master’s degree in mental health counseling.

When I began graduate school, I was managing a sleep disorders medical clinic and loved it. I truly enjoyed witnessing how treatment for snoring and apnea was literally life changing.

Upon obtaining my license to practice counseling, I became certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. It seemed like a no-brainer to combine my experience in the sleep industry with my passion for helping individuals and couples overcome trauma. After all, true healing and fulfillment can only occur when one is getting enough sleep!!

My approach focuses on working through the difficult emotions to experience true healing, identifying the truth of beauty from ashes, and discovering a wholeness that you thought was lost.

When I am not counseling…

I enjoy time with my family and friends, gardening, walking, and the wildlife that visits my home.
